Permanent Jewelry
Permanent jewelry consists of a small silver or gold chain that is welded together around your wrist to create an infinite bracelet without a clasp. The bracelet will remain on your wrist until you remove it by cutting a link in the chain with scissors.
What is the process?
The process is quick and painless! It will only take about 15-20 minutes from start to finish.
Step 1: Choose the chain you want from a selection provided.
Step 2: Your wrist will be measured and the chain will be cut to fit as you prefer.*
Step 3: A tiny weld will be made on the cut link to permanently close the chain around your wrist.
Step 4: All tarnish from the weld will be removed and the strength of the chain will be tested to make sure it is secure.
Step 5: Pay for the service. It’s that easy!
Don’t forget to tag @KikiCreativeJewelry on your Instagram posts while wearing your new permanent jewelry.
*Once the chain is cut, ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I get permanent jewelry?
Currently, I am offering permanent jewelry services through pop-up events on St. John in the US Virgin Islands. Please view my ‘Event Dates’ tab for scheduled events and check back frequently as I will add more dates/times when they are confirmed. Sign up for my newsletter and follow @KikiCreativeJewelry on Instagram for updates there as well.
Can I schedule a private permanent jewelry party?
I am not able to offer permanent jewelry services to private parties yet but I do hope to add this service for groups beginning in the Summer of 2023.
Is permanent jewelry really permanent?
The weld is inspected before your session is over to confirm it is secure so it will last a long time. That does not mean it is unbreakable but it should last for several years if you are careful and take care of your new jewelry.
Can I remove it myself?
Yes, you can remove it using a pair of scissors or wire cutters. If you have to remove your permanent jewelry for any reason, save the chain and I can try to reattach it for a $10 service fee. If the chain is in bad shape then you will have to purchase a new chain. Please keep in mind you may have to remove your jewelry for surgery. Kiki Creative Jewelry is not responsible for your lost or broken jewelry.
Do I have to remove it for airport security?
No, you DO NOT have to remove it to go through security at the airport.
Does it hurt?
Not at all. The process is completely painless and safety precautions are taken to prevent anything bad from happening. The weld produces a tiny spark of light and makes a ‘snap’ sound. It’s so quick it’s over in a flash!
How much does it cost?
The prices will depend on the cost of chain purchased and will be based on the market price for silver and gold.
What is the jewelry care for permanent jewelry?
I use sterling silver (.925) and 14k gold-filled chain. Sterling silver will tarnish over time and you can clean it using a polishing cloth available for purchase on my website. Gold-filled is thicker than plated gold so it will not rub off or turn your skin green and it is more affordable than solid gold. It will not tarnish but it never hurts to wipe it down occasionally using the polishing cloth. Do not use any chemicals or dish soap to clean your jewelry.
Can I use my own chain instead of choosing from your selection?
No. I only work with the material I source from my trusted, certified vendors. I do not know what your chain metal consists of and I cannot be responsible for it. Not all metal reacts the same when welded and there is no way I can guarantee the quality of the weld using your chain from an unknown source.
Will you repair my permanent jewelry that a different vendor welded for me but broke?
No. If you bought permanent jewelry from another vendor then you should return to them to get it repaired.
